Congratulations to recent graduate, Debra Guidroz, M.P.S. '10. Debra has recently finished an internship at East Jefferson Hospital in Metairie and will now be working for St. Margaret's Home Health and Hospice in Gretna, Louisiana.

When I first thought about the LIMEX program, I wondered what I would do with a Master in Pastoral Studies. My parish’s pastoral associate knew I was considering job choices with that degree. She knew I was also thinking about closing a business I had for over 25 years. Not knowing where this journey would lead me, I decided to take a leap of faith and started LIMEX in 2002. About half way into the program our class was told to choose a focus course. There were so many that interested me, but marketplace ministry really got my attention.

Congratulations to LIM Professor Kathleen O'Gorman for receiving the Faculty Community Service Award at the College of Social Sciences Convocation on May 13, 2011. Here is the citation that was read for her:
One of the strengths as well as weaknesses of contemporary academic life is its narrowing of expertise. Specialization helps scholars to focus intently, yet it can prevent them from linking their work to that of others.
Fran is well known in the Nashville and national nonprofit community as the director of development and communications for the Visitation Hospital Foundation which supports a medical clinic and healthcare missions in Haiti. She will continue in her position with Visitation Hospital Foundation as she also works part-time as Assistant Administrator at Catholic Charities.
David Chatelain, J.D., '75, M.P.S., '96, of Moreauville, LA, was appointed by order of the Louisana Supreme Court as Judge pro Tempore on the Third Circuit Court of Appeal.
Ed Biersmith, M.P.S. ’01, Monroe, La., was named a climate change ambassador by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. In this capacity, Ed has been trained by USCCB to speak publicly in the ArkLaMiss region on the church’s teaching on the care for creation and the poor.
Sister Clare earned her B.S. in mathematics from Loyola University New Orleans, and she also earned her master’s degree from the university in religious education in 1998. Sr. Clare has a long and distinguished career as both an administrator and educator. She is a member of the Sisters of the Holy Family, the Roman Catholic religious order that founded and administers St. Mary's Academy. In addition, she has served her community as assistant congregational leader. Her mathematical teaching career has spanned from Compton, CA., to Belize, Central America.
