Rent-Free Graduate Student Residency: Research & Serve in Pontotoc, Mississippi

Graduate Student Residency House in Pontottoc, MSGraduate students conducting research or writing dissertations can apply for free housing at the Volunteer House in Pontotoc, Mississippi, for stays ranging from one month to a full year. Graduate students do not need to be enrolled in Institute for Ministry programs. In exchange for rent-free accommodation, residents commit to regular volunteer service with local organizations including Habitat for Humanity, Beds for Kids, the Food Bank, Camp Friendship, free medical clinics, homeless shelters, or prison ministries.

Located on Main Street in a welcoming neighborhood just 1½ blocks from downtown, the house offers a safe, comfortable environment with friendly neighbors and easy access to the 30-mile Rails to Trails pathway. This unique opportunity provides graduate students with an affordable living situation while offering meaningful community engagement and cross-cultural immersion in small-town Mississippi.
