Petrochemical Pollution, the Unborn, and Maternal Health: A Louisiana Catholic Health Conference
April 4, 2025 (6:30–9:00 pm) and April 5, 2025 (8:30 am–3:30 pm) ✦ St. Peter Chanel Interparochial School, 2590 Louisiana Hwy. 44, Paulina, LA 70763 ✦ Cost: $20 suggested donation
In Louisiana's river parishes, a silent crisis unfolds as petrochemical waste threatens the health of mothers and their unborn children. This groundbreaking conference unites an unexpected coalition: Catholic faithful, medical experts, environmental scientists, and local families whose lives are shaped by industrial pollution. Through intimate discussions, expert presentations, and a revealing tour of affected areas, participants will wrestle with urgent questions at the crossroads of faith, medicine, and environmental justice. Together, they'll confront the harsh realities facing their community while seeking paths toward healing and change.
Co-sponsored by the Catholic Climate Covenant, the Archdiocese of New Orleans, the Diocese of Baton Rouge, the USA Central and Southern Province of the Jesuits, the Loyola Institute for Ministry, Rise St. James Louisiana, and The Center for the Human Spirit and Radical Reimagining.
