Congratulations to Mary E. Cranstoun, MPS ’19, for receiving the Loyola Institute for Ministry Scholar Award!
The Loyola Institute for Ministry Scholar Award recognizes excellence in Scholarship, Leadership and Service in a graduate from the Loyola Institute for Ministry.
In Mary's final project for her Master of Pastoral Studies degree, she focused on mission and leadership in Catholic health care. She writes, "the mission of a Catholic Health care ministry is vitally important for the ministry to be sustainable into the future.” Mary recommends that when Catholic health organizations experience new leadership, "we need to make sure if we experience mission shift at the top that the middle of the organization is steeped in the traditions of the foundation of Catholic health care and the heritage of the founders of the ministry."
Reflecting on her time studying with LIM, Mary notes, "My LIM studies opened up a whole new world of Catholicism for me… The practical application of the LIM studies to my own ministry is invaluable to my growth as a senior leader in my organization.”
