 Evening of Formation: Spirituality,
Liturgical Music Ministry, and the Psalms in Lent

On Zoom, February 8, 7:00-9:15 PM CST

This evening of formation links Scripture—particularly the Psalms—and music ministry with spiritual formation. This opportunity is aimed at liturgical musicians, especially cantors and music directors, because prayer and Scripture form and guide them and their ministry that in turn forms the gathered ecclesial community. Participants will receive short optional readings and videos ahead of time. The evening aims to be both inspirational and practical. It includes presentations by the instructors as well as small-group and large-group work.

The evening includes spiritual formation and:

  • Addresses the spirituality of Scripture, the lectionary, and the Psalms
  • Examines pastoral applications with Psalmody for music ministers and the parish community
  • Is fully online
  • Is free, but registration is required

Instructors:

  • Dr. Dan Girardot, D.Min. has served NPM for over 37 years. He teaches liturgy, music, and spiritual formation practices for parish ministers.
  • Dr. Tom Ryan, Ph.D. writes and presents on the history of spirituality and biblical interpretation.
