LIM Director Tracey Lamont Featured in The New Orleans Advocate

LIM Director Dr. Tracey Lamont was featured in an October 2026 article in The New Orleans Advocate highlighting her research into young adults’ use of artificial intelligence (AI) and their concerns about its growing influence.

Dr. Lamont’s research helped lay the foundation for a $75,000 grant from the Lilly Endowment’s “Growing in Faith in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” initiative. The grant supports efforts to explore how faith and AI can coexist in an increasingly technology-driven world.

Through her research, Dr. Lamont has examined young adults’ concerns about AI’s potential effects on creativity, personal identity, and ethical decision-making. Her work creates opportunities for meaningful conversations about the role of faith in navigating emerging technologies and helps inform how faith communities can respond thoughtfully to AI’s growing presence in everyday life.

Her feature in The New Orleans Advocate highlights the importance of this work and LIM’s commitment to exploring the intersection of faith, technology, and contemporary life.
