Liberation Theology Through Poetry: Dr. Castillo Explores Ernesto Cardenal's Vision of God's Kingdom

Dr. Francisco Castillo delivered a compelling presentation on "Celebración e interrogación del Reino de Dios in the Poetic and Prophetic Imagination of Ernesto Cardenal" at the Annual Colloquium of the Academy of Catholic Hispanic Theologians of the United States, held June 8-11 in Portland, Oregon.

His talk explored how the Nicaraguan priest-poet's work blends liberation theology, aesthetics, and theopoetics to envision El Reino de Dios (The Kingdom of God) as both a present reality and a transcendent hope. Dr. Castillo highlighted Cardenal's poetry as a powerful tool for social justice, theological reflection, and communal solidarity--calling us to celebrate, questions, and embody God's liberative promise in our world today.
