Don Thompson, MPS '90

Don Thompson, MPS '90 has been since 2000 Executive Director of the Harry Tompson Center , an award-winning center for the homeless located at St. Joseph Church near downtown New Orleans. He is responsible for overseeing services for 250-275 homeless guests each day, the recruitment and supervision of staff, liaison responsibilities with neighboring businesses and the coordination of donations and fundraising for the Center. The Harry Tompson Center is committed to providing a calm and caring environment in which to serve the needs of the poor and homeless in the downtown New Orleans area. The Center is dedicated to improving the quality of life for all those who come to us in need, not merely by responding to physical needs, but also by attending to the whole person with respect and compassion, after the exaple of Jesus.
