Air Force Base Taps LIM Graduate to Lead Spiritual Fitness Initiative

LIM alumnus Brian Merry, M.R.E., has been appointed as Spiritual Fitness Program Manager at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA), the largest joint military installation in the United States. JBSA encompasses three major locations - Fort Sam Houston, Lackland, and Randolph - where units specialize in military training, aviation operations, medical services, cybersecurity, and intelligence activities. In his new role, Brian will lead the development and implementation of comprehensive spiritual wellness programs across all JBSA facilities, focusing on strengthening the spiritual resilience and well-being of service members and their families.

Building on his commitment to spiritual development in the military community, Brian played a pivotal role in bringing the LIM Extension Program to JBSA and helped create the Certificate in Spiritual Fitness and Resiliency. This innovative program equips Air Force personnel with essential skills to support their fellow service members' spiritual needs. Through specialized training, participants learn to foster spiritual wellness and provide holistic care for airmen, guardians, and their families. The certificate program has become instrumental in creating an environment that recognizes and nurtures the spiritual aspects of military service, ultimately enhancing force readiness and resilience.
