Achievements

Fran is well known in the Nashville and national nonprofit community as the director of development and communications for the Visitation Hospital Foundation which supports a medical clinic and healthcare missions in Haiti.  She will continue in her position with Visitation Hospital Foundation as she also works part-time as Assistant Administrator at Catholic Charities.

Ed Biersmith, M.P.S. ’01, Monroe, La., was named a climate change ambassador by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. In this capacity, Ed has been trained by USCCB to speak publicly in the ArkLaMiss region on the church’s teaching on the care for creation and the poor.

Sister Clare earned her B.S. in mathematics from Loyola University New Orleans, and she also earned her master’s degree from the university in religious education in 1998. Sr. Clare has a long and distinguished career as both an administrator and educator. She is a member of the Sisters of the Holy Family, the Roman Catholic religious order that founded and administers St. Mary's Academy. In addition, she has served her community as assistant congregational leader. Her mathematical teaching career has spanned from Compton, CA., to Belize, Central America.

As Diocesan Director, she is responsible to Bishop Cunningham and serves the parishes and other agencies of the diocese with regard to policies and programs related to catechetical ministry.  She is responsible for implementing the vision of catechesis found in the General Directory of Catechesis and the National Directory of Catechesis, that faith formation is lifelong and ongoing.  

 

Loyola University New Orleans’ Christine H. Ebrahim, ’04, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Department of Counseling and the Director of the School Counseling Graduate Program, has been chosen as one of New Orleans CityBusiness’ 2010 Women of the Year.

Dr. Latoya Pierce, a graduate of Loyola University New Orleans's Department of Counseling is now an Assistant Professor at Louisiana Tech University in the Department of Psychology and Behavorial Sciences.  Congratulations Dr. Pierce.
