Achievements

Stacey Knight, a 2015 DNP graduate of Loyola University New Orleans, has been appointed coordinator of the RN-MSN Program at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. The program will admit its inaugural class this fall joining the established RN-BSN program. Dr. Knight will also teach in Lamar's Master of Science in Nursing program and has been a member of Lamar's full-time faculty for over 4 years, teaching pre-nursing and baccalaureate students in both didactic and practicum courses.

 

 

Warren Hebert is an accomplished CEO for the Homecare Association of Louisiana with a passion for improving health care. As a board member of Famlies Helping Families of Acadiana, the Louisiana Rural Health Association and the Advocacy Center in Louisiana, Hebert has continued his efforts to improve the lives of those in Louisiana while extending his educational research to other cultures. His research into Tibetan's attitudes towards death and dying earned him an invitation to give the keynote address at the Transcultural Nursing Society in April, 2015.

The School of Nursing presents awards to the top students in each of its programs who have consistently demonstrated a scholarly approach to their coursework and who are especially respected by faculty and students alike for excellence in academic achievement.

The National Academies of Practice is pleased to announce the election of Laurie Anne Ferguson, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, from New Orleans, LA as a Distinguished Scholar & Fellow of NAP. Dr. Ferguson was inducted at a gala membership banquet on April 18, 2015 in Alexandria, VA.

It supports five weeks of full-time work on a project that is intended to cross-fertilize Dr. Ruiz’s research and teaching. 

The program Melanie Rainier designed was featured as "an innovative project promoting Catholic identity" in the March 2015 issue of the magazine.

In addition to being accepted into UNO's PhD Program in Counselor Education starting in the Fall, Nasima Khan was also granted The Privateer Graduate Award, which will cover her tuition costs. Congratulations on this amazing accomplishment!

John is thel latest volume in the Feasting on the Gospels series, a new seven-volume commentary that covers every passage in the New Testament Gospels from four different perspectives.  The series has been designed for both lectionary and nonlectionary preachers by Westminster John Knox Press.

Ansel wrote the commentaries for Job, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Songs, Luke, 2 Peter, and Revelation. 

Dr. Justin Levitov, Prof. Kevin Foose, and Maria Cicio received LCA’s 2014 Best in Show for their presentation “Differentiation Through the Lens of Mindfulness.” As such, they have been invited to repeat this presentation at LCA’s 2015 Conference which will be held September 27-29, 2015 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
