Maternal and neonatal outcomes in many areas of our country have reached abysmally poor levels. Negative maternal health outcomes, particularly for Black women and women of color, are disproportionately high.

The shortage of qualified obstetrical providers is a crisis projected to only worsen over time, particularly for southern states. The Nurse-Midwifery Program in Loyola’s School of Nursing is committed to addressing the disparities for pregnant women by increasing the number of Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNM).

Increasing the number of CNMs will enhance access to essential obstetric and gynecologic services for women in underserved communities.

Heritage of Health Care Excellence and Affordability

We offer a variety of programs to better fit your specific financial needs and personal schedule, including deferment of up to 90 percent of your tuition and fees until the end of the semester if you’re participating in an employer-sponsored tuition reimbursement program.

National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA)

Loyola University New Orleans is a participating member of the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA), an organization that regulates and oversees distance education. This membership allows Loyola University New Orleans to accept distant students from most states across the United States. Please visit the NC-SARA website for a list of current SARA member states.

Please note that students who relocate while enrolled at Loyola University New Orleans may experience a delay in registration eligibility or potentially be unable to complete their studies if they are moving to a country or state where Loyola University New Orleans is not currently authorized to offer an online option for a particular program.
