Achievements

Dr. Melissa LeBrun published her children's book, "Caleb and Mr. Billy BandAid Go For A Check-up." Dr. LeBrun is currently an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing, and a Loyola University New Orleans Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner alumna. All proceeds from her book sales are going back to local children's hospitals.

Rachel Van Kirk presented her research on Theoretical Orientation and Self-Efficacy in Counseling Adults with Intellectual Disabilities.

Xander Waites presented his research on Toxic Masculinity, Rape Myths, and Male Adult Sexual Assault.

Nikki Piazza presented her research on Modernizing Sex and Drug Education.

Dylan Kolesa presented his research on Discrimination and Victimization of Transgender Women: Implications for Counseling and Research.

Hannah Makant presented her research on Play Therapy in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Sarah Hollows presented her research Toward an Intersectional Liberation Praxis: Collective Possibilities for Healing Through Legacies of Historical Trauma.

Kathryn Pennings presented her research on Healing Toxic Masculinity.

The American Academy of Nursing (AAN) inducted its 2018 cohort of Fellows in November. Loyola’s own Dr. Warren Hebert is among the new AAN Fellows. A three-time Loyola alumnus, Dr. Hebert joined the Wolfpack as an Assistant Professor in 2016. Warren teaches nursing on all three levels, including classes in leadership, health policy, health systems innovation, scientific writing, and community-based care. Dr. Hebert has worked in the home health field since 1985.
