Dr. Lisa Linville named “Outstanding Doctoral Student”

 

Lisa Linville, Assistant Professor of Nursing, was awarded the Doctor of Nursing Science degree at the LSU Health Sciences Center School of Nursing’s commencement ceremony on December 12.    During the ceremony, Dr. Linville was named “Outstanding Doctoral Student” and received the School’s award for writing excellence.

Anthony J. DiGerolamo, RN, MSN-HCSM, Vice President of Nursing, will become the West Jefferson Medical Center Chief Nursing Officer, effective January 1, 2014.  Anthony received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Our Lady of Holy Cross College and his Master of Science in Nursing and Healthcare Systems Management from Loyola University New Orleans.  Active in the community, Anthony is a member of the American Health Care Hero honoree and a 2012 nominee for Nursing Administrator of the Year by the Louisiana Nurses Foundation.

Dr. Patricia Pearce, Associate Professor of Nursing, has been elected to Distinguished Fellowship in the National Academies of Practice (NAP) and the Nursing Academy as a Distinguished Scholar and Fellow.  To be elected to NAP fellowship means those leaders in the profession of nursing, previously distinguished, value the work of Dr. Pearce.  NAP Fellows are considered the most accomplished in their field and are invited to apply and go through a rigorous selection process.

Francesca (Chi Chi) Losita, a 2013 graduate of the DNP Executive Leadership Program and 2011 graduate of the HCSM MSN Program was recently appointed as the Magnet Recognition Program Coordinator at Winter Park Memorial Hospital a Division of Florida Hospital in Winter Park, Florida.  The ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® is the most prestigious distinction a healthcare organization can receive for nursing excellence and quality patient outcomes.
