Integrated Technology for Online Students
A leader in distance learning, Loyola University New Orleans has been providing distance education options since 1980. In the fall of 1990, the School of Nursing initiated the Off-Campus Learning Program (OCLP) to offer the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree at a number of hospital sites throughout Louisiana via a combination of live and videotaped classes. By 2004, a completely online Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program was launched with a focus on Health Care Systems Management. In 2010, the School of Nursing implemented the DNP (Doctor of Nursing Practice) program offered in an online format. Now, the school is proud to offer a comprehensive suite of online nursing programs, including a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and expanded concentrations for the MSN and DNP programs.
All online courses offered by Loyola’s School of Nursing are delivered through Blackboard. Faculty use a combination of web conferencing, slide presentations, video, recorded audio and other leading technology for course delivery.
