Antiqua Smart DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, PHNA-BC, a full-time assistant professor in the School of Nursing, was recently selected as a member of the inaugural National Organization of Nurse Practitioners Faculties (NONPF) Telehealth Committee. The NONPF Telehealth Committee provides national recommendations on telehealth education for nurse practitioner faculty members and nurse practitioner students. Charges for the NONPF Telehealth Committee include: disseminating the best telehealth practices, competencies, and nurse practitioner faculty resources, identifying faculty development opportunities to enhance knowledge about telehealth, and providing leadership on the use of telehealth in nurse practitioner education. Dr. Smart will serve a two-year term on this national committee from 2021-2023. She currently maintains her faculty practice as a telehealth nurse practitioner working in the specialty of addiction medicine.
