Justin Levitov and Kevin Fall’s most recent textbook, “Translating Theory into Practice: A Student Guide to Counseling Practicum and Internship," published by Waveland Press, is now available. The book offers a comprehensive and practical review of clinical training for students completing practicum and internships in mental health settings. There are now four counseling course-specific texts co-authored by current or recent faculty members in the Department of Counseling.

Justin Levitov has taught in the Department of Counseling for the past 27 years. He has also held administrative posts serving for six years as chair of the department and nearly four years as director of the counseling program. He has co-authored three text books (currently working on his fourth), published almost two dozen articles, several book chapters, one book review and numerous papers, presented at local, regional and national conferences. Most recently, his work on a new protocol for treating couples, Tandem Couples Therapy, has captured the interest of family counseling agencies, clinicians of various disciplines and national professional associations.  He holds current LPC licenses in Louisiana and North Carolina. He is also licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in Louisiana and holds a national certification in Rehabilitation Counseling (CRC). He continues to treat individuals and families in a limited private practice.
