The Counseling Clinical Excellence Award is presented to the graduate counseling student who has demonstrated excellence in clinical counseling skills. This year’s recipient is Kevin Foose.
Kevin graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Psychology in 1989. He entered Loyola to pursue a degree in counseling 3 years ago. Kevin was chosen for this award because the faculty and his site supervisors have been exceptionally impressed with his clinical counseling skills. He has worked for the last year as an Intern at Family Services in St. Bernard Parish. He demonstrates tact and presence in both his counseling sessions and the group supervision experiences on campus. Kevin raised the bar for our program, and challenged the faculty to meet that bar in their instruction. Due to his acceptional clinical skills, Kevin has been offered a position as a counselor at Family Services of St. Bernard.
