Welcome! This New Student Orientation is designed to acclimate new students to the Loyola University New Orleans School of Nursing. This page contains important information for you to refer back to periodically, along with a few questions at the end. While you're here, be sure to check out the rest of the School of Nursing's website, including the faculty & staff page.
Before we can register you for classes you must complete your registration agreement in LORA: We recommend you bookmark the Graduate Nursing Student Resources page. There you will find your degree plan, which outlines the courses in which you will be enorlled throughout the program. The course sequence may vary slightly in the order depending on your starting semester. You will also find most of the forms and resources you will need the Graduate Nursing Student Resources page. If you have any questions about your degree plan or course schedule please reach out to your academic advisor. Exxat PRISM A couple of weeks after the start of classes an invitation from Exxat Prism will be sent to your Loyola student email address to complete your account set up. If you have not received it, please check your SPAM folder. This program will be used to track your compliance requirements, as well as to set up and track your practicums. When the email arrives, follow the instructions to set up your account. Once you activate your acount you will access Exxat Prism in your SSO Apps Dashboard. There are fees for these services that are not included in your tuition or course fees. Compliance requirements All students (on-campus and online) must complete a background check, drug screening, and submission of all requested immunization records. These documents will be in the Approve section of Exxat PRISM. There is an annual fee to access this feature. These requirements must be met within the 6 week period after the start of your first class. If you are not in compliance by the deadline, a registration hold will be applied to your account until you have met the requirements. This may prolong your scheduled graduation date. You are required to be compliant throughout your time in the program, not just for clinicals. Certificate students only - If you are enrolled in a practicum for your first semester, these compliance requirements must be met before you will be allowed to start your clinical hours. Loyola Student ID In order to obtain a Loyola student ID, you will need to email parking@loyno.edu with the following information: Your name and CWID, your current, valid mailing address, and a good quality headshot taken against a plain background. If you live in the New Orleans area you will pick up your ID on campus at Parking Services. If you are out of town we will mail your ID to the mailing address you provided. We are excited to have you with us! If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us by phone or email.
