Dr. Wiencek has over 40 years of experience in academia, clinical care, and professional organizations. She received her MSN and PhD from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio and most recently served as professor of nursing in the APRN program at the University of Virginia School of Nursing. Dr. Wiencek is past president of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses(AACN) and currently serves on the board of the AACN Certification Corporation. She is also a palliative care nurse practitioner and is passionate about integrating palliative care and critical care. Dr. Wiencek is also passionate about nurturing healthy work environments in the healthcare space and in schools of nursing as promoted by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses. She is excited about the opportunity to blend her passions for educating the next generation of nurses and APRNs and creating healthy work environments with the Jesuit mission of men and women caring for others.
