Dr. McAtee received her ADN from The University of Mobile Alabama, a BSN from the University of South Alabama, a master’s, and DNP from University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner who has practiced in Pulmonary & Critical Care as well as Nephrology after obtaining her master’s degree. Dr. McAtee completed her teaching as research project at the University of South Alabama with undergraduate and graduate pharmacology faculty. She has taught in both undergraduate and graduate nursing programs and has earned a CIRTL Scholar’s Teaching, Certified Nursing Educator and Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator certifications. She is currently serving as the Educational Chair for Louisiana Nurse Practitioners Association (LANP). Dr. McAtee joined the School of Nursing at Loyola in the Fall of 2023 as the Director of the Acute-Gero Nurse Practitioner Program.
