BSN-DNP student Melody Eschete has been announced as the Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners (LANP) Nurse Practitioner Student of the Year. This award is given to one LANP student member for her or his outstanding character, school performance, leadership, and interpersonal skills. It is the second year in a row that a Loyola University New Orleans student was awarded this honor.
Additionally, Melody was endorsed by the Louisiana State Nurses Association to join the 2016-2017 American Nurses Advocacy Institute (ANAI) cohort. The ANAI is a prestigious year-long mentored program for the purpose of developing nurses into political leaders while expanding the grassroots capacity for the nursing profession and health care. Upon completion, each ANAI Fellow is equipped to advise the Student Nurses Association in establishment of legislative and regulatory priorities, recommend strategies for execution of the advancement of a policy issue, and educate members about the political realities, as well as assist in advancing nursing's agenda.
Congratulations Melody!
