Nursing Professor meets with Dr. James Prochaska at the 24th Annual Art & Science of Health Promotion Conference

Nursing Professor Kim Brannagan recently attended the 24th  Annual Art & Science of Health Promotion Conference (March 26-28,2014) where the industry’s leaders gathered to discuss the most successful health promotion programs in the workplace, clinical, educational and community settings.

 

Nursing Professor Kim Brannagan, PhDProfessor Brannagan had the opportunity to meet with Dr. James Prochaska, Dr.  Janice Prochaska and Lisa Richard, RN, MSN (HCSM Alumni) while attending the 24th  Annual Art & Science of Health Promotions Conference. Dr. James Prochaska who is noted for his change theory,  The Transtheoretical Model of Change, along with his wife Dr. Janice Prochaska presented Changing to Thrive: Latest Breakthroughs in Applying the Transtheoretical Model of Change. The integrative, biopsychosocial  model conceptualizes the process of intentional behavioral change as opposed to other models that focus on social or biological influences.
