Kathryn Pennings is a second year graduate student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at Loyola University. She co-leads Students Addressing Race and Privilege (SARP) and works towards publication with her research on masculinity and mental health, and trauma-informed yoga for substance use disorder treatment. She received her Bachelors of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where she focused on psychology and gender & women's studies. She's previously served as a community mental health case manager for clients with severe and persisting mental illnesses, and as a behavioral therapist for children on the autism spectrum in schools and homes. Kathryn is proficient in French and sustains a personal meditation and yoga practice.
Kathryn studies using an intersectional feminist perspective and plans to practice trauma informed, relational-cultural therapy.
