Dehan Elcin is a clinical intern at the Loyola Center for Counseling & Education (LCCE). He holds a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience from Tulane University and is pursuing a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Loyola University New Orleans. His doctoral research focused on non-drug altered states of consciousness, including meditation and high-ventilation breathwork, and he continues to work part-time as a research scientist studying human performance and wellness. He is also a trained breathwork facilitator with a background in music.
Dehan works with individuals and couples from an existential perspective, grounded in family systems thinking. He aims to create a grounded, curious, and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore the questions that matter most to them and move toward lives that feel more authentic and connected. Where appropriate, he may incorporate breathwork and other somatic practices into sessions."
