Nasima Khan, currently pursuing a MS in Counseling, has been awarded this year's International Student Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded each year to a student in F-1 status, with a 3.0 minimum grade point average who has demonstrated significant contributions to cultural understanding and awareness at Loyola. Financial need and academic merit are also considered. The recipient is selected by a committee of faculty, staff and students.
Alumna Catherine Geoghegan McDermott received her LPC in December 2010. She was also accepted to the doctoral program at the University of New Orleans.
The Counseling Research Excellence Award is presented to the graduate counseling student who has demonstrated excellence in research. During her time at Loyola, Stephanie has given several presentations, including: Applying wellness to adolscents: A personal growth group; Adapting filial therapy/CPRT model; and Adolescents and risky behaviors: Preventing negative lifestyle.
