Dr. Salib-Barrios received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada and Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. Before becoming a family nurse practitioner, she practiced as a registered nurse for five years, with a focus in maternal-newborn nursing. 

In the academic setting, Dr. Salib-Barrios has presented her doctoral research on perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) at the FSU DNP Exposition (5/18), the Florida Perinatal Mental Health Conference (8/18), and Ochsner’s 10th Annual EBP/Research Conference (10/18).

Dr. Salib-Barrios is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and current member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and the Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners (LANP). She is licensed as an APRN in Florida and Louisiana. She enjoys seeing pediatric patients and is an advocate for preventive medicine.
