Dr. Lisa Authement obtained her DNP (NP track) from Loyola University New Orleans in 2014. She previously obtained her Master’s degree in Nursing at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in 2007 and she holds a Family Nurse Practitioner certification from AANP. Both of her undergraduate degrees were obtained at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, LA. She’s been involved in teaching since 2009 and has worked as an FNP since 2007 at a privately-owned outpatient internal medicine clinic in Houma, LA. There she assessed, diagnosed, and managed episodic and chronic conditions of adults and managed the care of patients in acute and long term settings on a regular basis.
Dr. Authement was awarded the 2014 Take Home Health Promotion Grant from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) for her capstone project, Targeting Discrepancies: Quality Improvement in Mediation Reconciliation in the Older Population Transitioning from Acute to Ambulatory Care. She delivered a poster presentation of the topic at the AANP Annual National conference in New Orleans, LA in June 2015.
She is a current member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Louisiana Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society. She currently serves on the Evaluation Committee and the Visibility Committee at Loyola University.
