Sage Laborde will be a practicum student counselor as of summer 2021 at LCCE. She received a B.A. in English Creative Writing from Louisiana State University in 2017. Sage plans to use a psychodynamic counseling approach, focusing on how our developmental experiences and past are intricately woven into the manifestations of our present emotions, behaviors, and patterns. Psychodynamic theory allows the client, of all ages, to explore their own perception of significant life moments and how their life has been impacted. This practice allows for many creative opportunities and reflection, which Sage will strive to incorporate in the counseling process through colors, writing, and individual creative interests and forms of expression. Sage is interested in facilitating compassion and growth from traumatic experiences, interpersonal issues, depression, and anxiety. Outside of the counseling realm, Sage enjoys music, writing, animals, and traveling.
