Gian Durand, J.D., is a community activist and successful entrepreneur whose diverse portfolio is founded on the principle of service to the people and businesses of her native New Orleans. As Chief Operating Officer of Loving Hearts of Louisiana, she expanded the service area to include both Lafayette and New Orleans, amassing an expert team of mental and behavioral health professionals to provide the highest quality therapies and programs, including psychotherapy, counseling, court-ordered treatment, crisis intervention, and personal care assistance. Together with healthcare providers and several charter schools in New Orleans, she most recently developed a holistic program for elementary school students that encompasses physical, academic, and medical support services. The PMA (Physical, Academic, and Medical) program will be launched as a pilot program in eight select charter schools in the fall of 2019. Durand’s professional experience also includes work in the environmental/energy sector and the food service industry as Founder and Owner of both D.P. Global Solutions, LLC and Durand Food Services, respectively. She is currently focusing her time and resources on cultivating Loving Hearts’ initiatives and performing outreach in the community, serving on boards of local non-profits, mentoring youth and providing entrepreneurial seminars and workshops. Leadership positions include serving on the Board of Directors for Son of a Saint Mentorship, Mental Health Advisory Board for Louisiana Family Recovery Corps, Board of Directors for Homeless Pride, Community Organizer for Hope Worldwide, and Advisory Committee for the Sisters of the Holy Family.
