Elana Cohen
Elana moved to New Orleans in 2016 after completing an interdisciplinary undergraduate degree in Identity, Power, and Marginalization from Western Washington university and working as an elementary outdoor educator in her hometown of Oakland, CA. Before joining Loyola’s Clinical Mental Health program, Elana spent four years as a civil rights community educator focusing on federal and local housing discrimination law. Elana’s clinical interests include complex and intergenerational trauma and building supportive mental health resources for the queer community. In Elana’s free time they enjoy cooking, sing-alongs, and dismantling systems of oppression.
