I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Loyola, a Master’s and Ed.S. degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from James Madison University, and a doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from The College of William & Mary. I am a nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Prior to coming back to Loyola I was a Counselor Educator at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. I’m a self described counseling nerd. I love teaching, supervision, and critically thinking about mental health. My clinical practice has primarily focused on working with at-risk youth from a structural family therapy lens although I’ve have had experience with a wide range of clients. My research interests are in counselor development within training programs and the impact of violence exposure on adolescent development. Currently I’m excited about developing my interest/research into the ways we educate students within counseling programs.
