National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) New Orleans has provided services, support, education, and advocacy to people with mental illness and their families since 1978. NAMI New Orleans hosted its 5th annual walk in October in order to raise money for their continued work in the New Orleans community. Through various fundraising efforts, including a fundraiser at Rock’n’Bowl, Loyola Counseling Department’s Honor Society, Chi Sigma Iota, Alpha Phi Chapter raised over $3,500 that will go directly towards services offered by NAMI New Orleans.
Loyola Counseling intramural team, Pink Freud, aptly named after the father of psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud, went undefeated this flag football season, finishing with a 6-0 record. Led by all-star quarterback, Jenna Oncale, the Pink Freuds serged their way to victory with poise and class. Team members also included: Maggie Alewine, Kristen Centanni, Bri Cortez, Sarah Finney, Xenia Hatzilias, Carly Herron, Lynsey Hinnenkamp, Tracy Kinamore, Stephie Koch, Devin Leivo, Megan Loos, Megan Matthews, and Rachel Schaub.

As Social Services Director, Kristen will provide and direct counseling and social services to the residents of St. Margaret's at Mercy, assisting residents and their families in adjusting from a home or hospital setting to St. Margaret's. Kristen's degree in Pastoral Studies has certainly prepared her to carry out St.
Warren Hebert, a graduate of our MSN program and now a DNP student has published the attached article titled "Interdisciplinary Team Competencies in Engaging Family Caregivers in The Journal of the Louisiana-Mississippi Hospice and Palliative Care Organization. Warren put together a group of healthcare and end of life professionals who will spend 14 days in the Tibetan communities in exile in northern India. There we will observe aging, family caregiving- (tying in my capstone), end of life care, and Tibetan traditions around death and dying.
